![]() The 1 turn duration really sucks, but at least he has dualcast so he isn't just covering all the time. Sentinel buffs Mont's DEF and SPR by 200% for 1 turn, puts up 25% physical and magic mitigation shields for himself for 1 turn, and gives him a 75% chance to cover allies (50-75% mitigation) for 1 turn. Stone Throw deals 0.1x ST damage, and gives Mont 100% taunt for 3 turns. Magic Break is the MAG mirror of Power Break. Power Break deals 3.6x AoE damage and breaks all enemies' ATK by 65% for 3 turns. Discipline fills Mont's LB gauge by 3-4, as well as buffing his ATK by 150% for 3 turns and giving him a 3 turn, 30% physical mitigation shield. Body Slam deals 3.6x ST damage and also dispels the target. double double? Anyway, let's see what he can actually cast. Mont does have an unrestricted dualcast for his skills, amusingly named Dual Twin Blade. Overall it's worse stats than a Genbu Ring (which is craftable), but if you often have free turns in your rotation you can consider using it for the LB fill. The active ability on it is nice, but it takes a whole turn. ![]() The defensive stats are below par (also 10-15%), and the ATK is also well below average. The HP is approximately 10-15% on most units, which is a nice little treat but not much. It also has an ability on it that allows the user to fill their allies' LB gauge by 5. His STMR, the Lion Emblem, is an accessory that provides 272 HP, 23 ATK, 23 DEF and 23 SPR. Two defensive stats with high DEF makes it a bit worse than the free Lightning's TMR, but that one is a seriously good TMR anyway. Otherwise, it's just a really solid tank materia. It could work well on a DPS that needs to take some hits (for uncoverable / provoke-ignoring physical attacks), without dropping too much damage. It provides 20% HP, and 40% ATK / DEF when equipped with a sword. Mont's TMR, Destined Prince, is a materia. ![]() Up to twice a turn, he has a 40% chance to counter physical attacks with a 9.3x ST hit that also fills his LB gauge by 4. On top of that, he does have a counterattack: He doesn't need his LB to tank, but it could still end up being a source of extra damage in a pinch. Some elemental resistance and status immunity, as well as guts. Aside from that, he's pretty solid defensively. He has solid passive +ATK%, which is unfortunately backed by a rather poor ATK stat. Speaking of short, so's this intro! Stats He also has some weird DPS fantasies, but falls just a bit short. Rain Mont is a tank, as mentioned earlier. As far as I can tell, they're basically the same character. In FFBE-land, they are both tanks who favor fire and earth.
